Schedule posts to Tumblr: limits, media rules and setup
Tumblr is a social network. Publaro publishes there directly, with 100,000 characters per post and the platform's own media rules checked for you.
Publaro publishes to Tumblr directly
Posts go to Tumblr through its official API, at the time you schedule them. If Tumblr does not answer after a post was sent, Publaro marks it "check needed" instead of sending it again, so a post never goes out twice.
Tumblr limits and media rules
These are the rules Publaro checks while you write, so a post is not rejected after you have scheduled it.
| Text limit | 100,000 characters |
|---|---|
| Threads (a post split into parts) | No |
| Images per post | 10 |
| Videos per post | 1 |
| Image file | JPG, PNG, and GIF, up to 20 MB |
| Video file | MP4 and MOV, up to 10 minutes and 100 MB |
| Media required | No: text alone is enough |
| Image descriptions (alt text) | Supported |
| Daily posting cap | 250 posts per account per day (set by the platform) |

What Publaro checks before a post goes to Tumblr
- The text length, counted the way Tumblr counts it
- That any media you add fits Tumblr's file types and sizes
- That images carry a description for people who cannot see them
- That the post is not a copy of the same text on another platform
- That nothing in it breaks your brand rules, such as banned words
