Plan posts to Snapchat: limits, media rules and setup
Snapchat is a social network. Snapchat has no public posting API, so Publaro prepares the post and you publish it.
Publaro prepares Snapchat posts for you to publish
Snapchat has no public posting API, so no tool can publish there for you. Publaro writes and checks the post, adds it to your calendar, and creates a task; the post is never marked as published until a person confirms it.
Snapchat limits and media rules
These are the rules Publaro checks while you write, so a post is not rejected after you have scheduled it.
| Text limit | 250 characters |
|---|---|
| Threads (a post split into parts) | No |
| Images per post | 1 |
| Videos per post | 1 |
| Image file | JPG and PNG, up to 10 MB |

Connecting to Snapchat
Snapchat needs no connection: Publaro prepares the post for you to publish yourself.
What Publaro checks before a post goes to Snapchat
- The text length, counted the way Snapchat counts it
- That the post has the image or video Snapchat requires
- That the post is not a copy of the same text on another platform
- That nothing in it breaks your brand rules, such as banned words
Questions about Snapchat
Can I schedule posts to Snapchat with Publaro?
Publaro cannot publish to Snapchat itself, because Snapchat has no public posting API. It prepares and schedules the post as a task and reminds you to publish it; nothing is marked as published until you confirm.
What is the Snapchat character limit?
Snapchat allows 250 characters in a post. Publaro counts them the way Snapchat does and warns you while you type, so a post is never rejected for length at the last moment.
How do I connect Snapchat to Publaro?
Snapchat needs no connection: Publaro prepares the post for you to publish yourself.
Does Snapchat need an image or video?
Yes. Snapchat needs image or video with every post. Publaro checks this while you write and will not schedule a post to Snapchat without it.
