Schedule posts to Flickr: limits, media rules and setup
Flickr is a video or photo site. Publaro publishes there directly, with 10,000 characters per post and the platform's own media rules checked for you.
Publaro publishes to Flickr directly
Posts go to Flickr through its official API, at the time you schedule them. If Flickr does not answer after a post was sent, Publaro marks it "check needed" instead of sending it again, so a post never goes out twice.
Flickr limits and media rules
These are the rules Publaro checks while you write, so a post is not rejected after you have scheduled it.
| Text limit | 10,000 characters |
|---|---|
| Threads (a post split into parts) | No |
| Images per post | 10 |
| Videos per post | None |
| Image file | JPG, PNG, and GIF, up to 200 MB |
| Media required | Yes: image |
| Image descriptions (alt text) | Not supported by the platform |
| Title | Optional, up to 255 characters |
Connect Flickr by signing in
You sign in to Flickr and approve Publaro. Your Flickr password is never shared with Publaro, and you can revoke access from Flickr at any time. Agencies can also send clients a private connect link, so they connect their own accounts.
What Publaro checks before a post goes to Flickr
- The text length, counted the way Flickr counts it
- That the post has the image Flickr requires
- That the post is not a copy of the same text on another platform
- That nothing in it breaks your brand rules, such as banned words
Questions about Flickr
Can I schedule posts to Flickr with Publaro?
Yes. Write the post once, choose a time, and Publaro publishes it to Flickr for you. You can schedule a single post, fill the next free slot in your posting schedule, or import many at once from a CSV file.
What is the Flickr character limit?
Flickr allows 10,000 characters in a post. Publaro counts them the way Flickr does and warns you while you type, so a post is never rejected for length at the last moment.
