How to Schedule Facebook Posts: Pages and Profiles
You can schedule Facebook posts automatically, but only for Pages. Personal profiles and groups cannot be posted to by any outside tool, and a tool that says otherwise is either breaking Facebook's rules or posting by hand for you. This guide explains the difference and what to do for each case.

Pages, profiles and groups: what can be scheduled
Facebook gives outside tools access to Pages you manage, and nothing else. This is Facebook's rule, not a gap in one product. If you only have a personal profile, you can create a Page for free and post there, or use reminders for the profile.
| Facebook Page | Yes, automatic. Publaro publishes at the time you choose. |
|---|---|
| Personal profile | No automation exists. Publaro sends you a reminder with the text ready, and you post it yourself. |
| Group | No automation exists for any outside tool. Handled as a reminder. |
How to schedule a post to a Facebook Page
You need a role on the Page that lets you create content, such as Admin or Editor. If you do not manage a Page, there is nothing to connect.
- Connect Facebook in the scheduler and, on Facebook's screen, tick the Pages you want to use. Only the Pages you tick are connected.
- Create a post, choose the Page, write the text and add a photo, video or link.
- Check the preview and any warnings.
- Pick a date and time, or add the post to a queue. Save it.
- The post publishes on the Page at that time.
What to do for a personal profile
Publaro does not pretend to automate profiles. You schedule the post as a reminder: at the time you set you get a notification with the text and media ready to copy, you post it on Facebook yourself, and then mark it as posted so your calendar stays accurate.
This keeps your plan in one calendar with everything else, and it keeps your account safe, because nothing violates Facebook's rules.
Facebook Page limits

| Who can connect | People who manage the Page |
Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule posts to my personal Facebook profile?
Not automatically. Facebook does not allow any outside tool to publish to personal profiles. You can schedule a reminder and post by hand.
Can I schedule posts to a Facebook group?
Not automatically either. Groups are not available to outside tools, so they work as reminders.
Is it free to schedule Facebook Page posts?
Facebook does not charge for scheduling on Pages. In Publaro, Facebook Pages are on the Creator plan and above; the Free plan covers Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord and LinkedIn.
Why did my Page not show up when I connected?
On Facebook's permission screen only the Pages you tick are shared, and you need a role on the Page. Reconnect and tick the Page, or ask an Admin to give you a role.
Plan it once, publish it everywhere
Write one post, fit it to each platform, and let Publaro publish it at the time you choose.
